4th Annual Capital City Lights - December 6, 2024
Capital City Lights returns for its fourth annual seasonal event on Friday, December 6, starting at 4:00 PM. This holiday spectacular brings the collaborative efforts of multiple organizations to Downtown Jackson to usher in a season of joy in the City With Soul. The event, presented in part by Visit Jackson and Downtown Jackson Partners, will feature family-friendly activities, shopping, tours, and more centered on Capitol Street.
Organizations and businesses throughout Jackson are represented at the event, bringing a unique activity or flavor to the festivities. Returning this year is the collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) for their Christmas by Candlelight Tour, which will allow participants to tour various downtown attractions with a connecting shuttle service.
Festive Atmosphere: Twinkling lights, holiday decorations, and a cozy, walkable layout perfect for families and friends.
Live Entertainment: Main stage performances featuring choirs and Nutcracker vignettes by the Metro Mississippi Ballet.
Unique Experiences: Typewriter poets, caricature artists, and the Cruisin’ on Capitol classic car exhibit.
Kid-Friendly Activities: Meet Soul Santa, explore emergency vehicles, visit an exotic petting zoo, and enjoy photo ops with Nutcracker characters.
Food and Drinks: Food trucks, street vendors, local restaurants, pop-up bars, and a wine garden.
Holiday Shopping: Magnolia Marketplace with local makers, pop-up shops, and unique finds from downtown businesses.
The City of Jackson will celebrate the event with its annual tree lighting at Jackson City Hall.

The 601 Day market located along Capitol Street between State and President Street will be a hub of activity on Sunday, June 2nd, from 3p - 8 pm. If you've been to our market events before, you know it's more than just a market-it's a vibe! This year, we're bringing you sounds by DJ Java, a variety of good eats, and the opportunity to support over 20+ local vendors.

2024 Food Truck Festival
Join the Mississippi Museum of Art to celebrate their annual Food Truck Festival with live music, free art-making, gallery tours, a screening of Soul on the C Spire Stage, and local shopping with Magnolia Sunset Markets.
This event is free and open to the public.
Midfest 2024
The Business Association of Midtown (BAM) will be hosting MIDFEST, their annual street festival on Saturday, May 4th, from 2pm - 7pm featuring businesses, products, performances, food and drinks that are “Made in Midtown.” Made in Midtown is a brand created to promote the growing business and creative culture that exists in the Midtown Neighborhood. Your favorite Midtown businesses will be open along with Magnolia Markets vendors on site selling the best arts and crafts, food and drinks and the coolest live music around.
